Wilma Mae Warne age 73, of Washington, passed away December 16, 2017 at 6:25AM at the Washington Nursing Center. She was born January 3, 1944 to Enos J. and Adeline (Graber) Richer. She was a homemaker, worked in several area restaurants and in later years was a caregiver. She was a member of the Shoals V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Loogootee American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, James and Shannon Warne of Sarasota, Florida and Robert and Christine Warne of Washington; grandchildren, Samuel Ray “Jr” Warne, Kristina (Warne) Collins, Darrell James “DJ” Warne, Matthew Lee Warne, Justin Warne and Jamie Lynn Warne; one step grandson, Caleb Graber; great grandchildren, Jereit Crosby, Iyivie Elizabeth Crosby and Noah Warne; two sisters, Lydia Wonder of Washington, Ann and Les Slabaugh of North Port, Florida; two brothers Jacob L. Richer of Loogootee and Dale and Carol Richer of Loogootee; and a daughter in law, Georgia Warne of Loogootee. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Sammy Warne; one brother, Raymond Richer and one great grandson in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM on Tuesday at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Montgomery, with Minister Noah Knepp Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30am-11:30am at the church.
