Sylvia D. Rush, age 86, formerly of Dover Hill, passed away November 8, 2023, in Bloomington. She was born December 1, 1936, in Martin County the daughter of Henry and Della (Chastain) Taylor. She married Carl Rush in 1956, and he preceded her in death in 2013.
She attended Williams High School and worked various jobs mostly of the factory variety. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially during the Christmas season. Sylvia was of the Christian faith.
Sylvia is survived by three children, Carl Rush (Bonnie) of Shoals, Vickie Ervin (Kevin) of Loogootee, and Kelly Neace (Wayne) of Washington; ten grandchildren, Ragen Pruneau, Daniel Rush, Jake Melton, Carla Hayes, Sarah McPherson, Raymond McPherson, Tina Rivera, Crystal Rush, Brad Neace, and Christian Neace; fifteen great-grandchildren, Clayton, Mikayla, Aiden, Addie, Chase, Nora, Mars, Leo, Dominic, Darien, Drake, Jason, Brianna, Joshua, and Emmie: and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving are her siblings Lois Conklin (Robert), Roger Taylor (Connie), and Gerald Max Taylor (Lina), and brother-in-law, Norman Rush (Renate).
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as brothers and sisters, Bill Taylor, Fred Taylor, Jean Silver, Kathleen Litton, Jim Taylor, and Hank Taylor, and brother- and sister-in-law, James Bud Rush and Faye Rush.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, Shoals. Burial will follow at Mount Union in Loogootee.
Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service on Friday at the Queen-Lee Chapel.
