Sheryl G. Baker, 75, of Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Born March 14, 1950, in Shoals, he was the son of Gene and Sharon (Jones) Baker.
Sheryl graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1968.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Sentry Dog Handler stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and retired from Crane as a Production Superintendent in 2005.
Sheryl enjoyed guns, fishing, hunting, traveling the world decommissioning munitions, spending time with his family and visiting the Shoals VFW. He enjoyed supporting his fellow veterans in any way he could.
He was a member of the Shoals VFW Post #8589, Shoals American Legion Post #61, and Shoals Eagles #2442.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Rebecca “Becky” (Steven) Pendley, Brian (Mary) Grindstaff, and Amy (Harold) Turpen; grandchildren, Chasity (Anthony) Lee, David “Davie” Qualkenbush, Reed Grindstaff, Riley (Sarah) Grindstaff, and Levi Pendley; siblings, Sharlene (Ken) Mueller and Shawn Baker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brandon Scott Pendley; and sibling, David Baker.
Cremation was chosen at Sheryl’s request and private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shoals VFW in memory of Sheryl G. Baker.
