Sandra Lou “Sandy” Crosby, 75, of Shoals, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Born December 31, 1947 in Washington, she was the daughter of Randall “Red” and Dorothy (Berry) Van Hoy.
Sandy graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1965 and retired from Jay C foods after 28 years.
She was a member of Hindostan Church, the Sister’s of Grace, and attended the Roof Crashers Bible Study.
Sandy enjoyed traveling, taking pictures, going on pontoon boat rides, bonfires, and spending time with her family.
She married James “Jim” Heichelbech and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1969. She then married Arvell Crosby on January 28, 1989 and he survives.
Surviving are her husband, Arvell; children, Kristi (Kenny) Dages, of Loogootee, Angie (Terry Sherman) Lynch, of Hillham, Cindy (Tim) Sorrells, of Shoals, and Justin (Jessie) Crosby, of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Lacey Stout, Alex Doane, Taylor Walker, Kenyon Sorrells, Ian Crosby, Audri Crosby, and Mylee Crosby; great-grandchildren, Levi and Ryder Stout; brother, Tom (Sue) Van Hoy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; infant daughter, Barbara Ann Heichelbech; and son-in-law, Tim Walker.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Marty Evans officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hindostan Church and the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center in Jasper.
