Richard H. Emmons

Richard Emmons age 88, of Shoals died on July 21, 2022. He was born on December 2, 1933 to Oliver and Thelma (Gammon) Emmons in Lost River Township of Martin County. He married Nina R. Barnes on November 26, 1955 and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2017 He retired from Kimball International, Jasper Corporation. Richard is survived by his daughters, Araminta (Ernie) Bauernfiend, of Shoals, Carla (Bill) Kern, of Dubois; son, Chuck (Shelly) Emmons, of Shoals; grandchildren, Tracy (Rick) Spurgeon, Jerad (Toni) Emmons, Justin (Rachael) Emmons, Lindsey (Ian) McKeag, Tiffany (Adam) Wittmer, Erica (Clint) Carie, Scott (Tori) Kern, Andrew Kern, and Luke Kern; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Wilma Darlene Able, of Mitchell; brother, Charles (Fay) Emmons; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nina; one sister, Ida Jones Bye; and brother, Danny Lee Emmons. Richard enjoyed going to Velmas for breakfast and his morning coffee and Bo-Macs for ice cream. Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday July 26, 2022 at Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday at Queen-Lee Chapel. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
