Rebecca L Costello

Rebecca L. Costello age 73, of Loogootee, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at her residence. She was born on January 1, 1947 in Shoals, Indiana to Alfred A. and Myrtle Mae (Herndon) Rutledge. She married James H. Ragens in 1963 and later married Stephen A. Costello and he passed in 2014. She retired in 2004 from the United States Department of Agriculture and was of the Jewish faith. Survivors include her mother, Myrtle Rutledge of Shoals; one son, James H. (Stephanie) Ragens of Washington; three daughters, Lisa (Randy) Johnson of Loogootee, Teresa (Stacy) White of Grand Prairie, Texas and Amanda Hunt of Loogootee; eight grandchildren, Chase Ragens, Anna Ragens, Matthew Johnson, Jennifer (Eddie) Craney, Benjamin (Kendall) Leach, Jonathan Leach, Trey Hunt and Tanner Hunt. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Frances Hatfield of Bedford. Ms. Costello was preceded in death by her father, a grandson, Seth Leach, a granddaughter, Taylor Hunt, two brothers, Alfred A. Rutledge and Michael David Rutledge; and two sisters, Cherie Bruner and Candace Mundy. Private services will be held for the family with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital. The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
