Lf Meador

Lf Meador, 98, of Shoals, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born September 15, 1927, in Seminole, Oklahoma, he was the son of Lela “Lee” Foster and Flora (Chapman) Meador.
Lf Graduated from Blue Eye High School in Missouri and graduated from Oklahoma University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
He married Geneva Joyce Atchley on August 6, 1950, in Green Forest, Arkansas, and she preceded him in death on June 29, 2018.
Lf was a Mill Superintendent at United States Gypsum in Shoals for over 34 years. Lf Started in Southard, Oklahoma for about 3 years before they sent him to help start up the U.S. Gypsum Plant in Shoals. Upon his arrival, there wasn’t much completed and he helped build the plant from the ground up.
He was a charter member of the 1st Baptist Church in Jasper and the founder of the Shoals Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Lf always had a delightful sense of humor and always had a story about his life for anyone who would listen. He was an avid fisherman and Oklahoma Sooner fan. At the drop of a hat, he was ready to go fishing. Lf was a volunteer fireman for Shoals and a member of the Shoals Lion’s Club.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Raymon (Kathy) Meador, of Milltown, and Betty (Jeff) Lindauer, of Shoals; six grandchildren, Angela Vogler, Shane and Justin Leinenbach, Robert (Ashley) Stevens, Raymon (Ashlee) Meador Jr., Nicole (Dusty) Arney; great-grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremy) Ferguson, Logan (Olivia) Bromm, Grant (Bethany) Bromm, Trysten Stevens, Dylan (Brailey Snellenberger) Meador, Drake Meador, Brilee Meador, Aubree Meador, Layne Arney, and Zadyn, Lenix, and Maven Leinenbach; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Ferguson, Ruger Bromm, and Kashton Snellenberger; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Marsha Brett, Donna Sturgeon, Becky Lee, Charlotte Mundy, and Avory Bauernfiend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geneva Joyce Meador; and sister, Bernice Turnbo, of Norman, OK.
Funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday December 28, 2025, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Jim Lilly officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until the service hour on Sunday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals.
Funeral service will be at Noon CST on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Nelson Funeral Service 202 E. Madison Avenue, Berryville Arkansas. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. CST until the service hour on Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Service.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Green Forest, Arkansas.
The family would like to express that they have been extremely blessed with wonderful caregivers. Over the last 20 years, they have become a part of the family. Life would have been much more difficult during this time without them. They treated Lf and Joyce as if they were their own parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee, in memory of Lf Meador.
