Judy Dickey of Loogootee left this life Friday March 24th at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, Indiana after a lengthy illness. She was born in Jasper January 24th 1943 to Edgar F. and Florence (Eckert) Henke. Judy attended Jasper schools, and had resided in Shoals since 1961. She married William D. Dickey January 24th, 1981.
She was employed at R.C.A. in Bloomington for thirty-five years retiring in 1997. After retirement Judy worked part time at the Alco Dime store in Shoals.
Judy was an avid member of the Shoals Eagles #2442 Auxiliary since 1971 and a three time auxiliary president. She also held offices in the Eagles Zone #4, District # 11, and the Indiana State Auxiliary ascending to the position of State Madam President for the year 2007-2008. Judy then became Central Regional President, and at the 2016 state convention in Indianapolis was inducted into the Indiana State Auxiliary Hall of Fame. She was known and loved by her eagle brothers and sisters throughout the international organization.
Besides her husband she is survived by her children: Pamela Sue Baker (Brent) Washington, Bradley S. Howell (Lana) of Montgomery, Mary (Pfettscher) Reese (Mike) of Evansville. Also Bill's devoted daughters: Diana Matthews-Summerton (Larry) Bedford, and Linda Machura (Frank) of Portage, Indiana.
Brothers: Ronald Henke (Aletha) Jasper, David Henke (Jane) Jasper.
Sisters: Donna Wigand (John) Jasper, and Sharon Henke, Jasper. Twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals on Thursday March, 30th, at 1:00pm with Bro. Kris Beasley officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm and Thursday from 8:00am until time of service at the funeral home. There will be an Eagles Auxiliary Memorial Service at 7pm on Wednesday.
