John Paul Clark Sr. age 79 of Jasper, passed away at 7:18 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born in Rutherford Township in Martin County on January 23, 1939 to Alfred and Wilma (Way) Clark. He married Patricia Jo Bledsoe on November 9, 1958 at the Loogootee United Methodist Church.
He attended the Truelove-Davis Schools and was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He worked at Jasper Desk and was employed by Jasper Wood Products until retirement. After retirement he enjoyed driving for the Amish, going for rides in the country, loved people watching, enjoyed watching old game shows and westerns on television and spending time with his family.
Survivors include daughters, Cathy Sue Schott of Jasper, Pamela Abrams and husband Greg of Oaktown, W. Marie Clark of Lynchburg, Ohio; sons, Steve Bledsoe and wife Tonya of Washington, John P. Clark Jr. and wife Barbera of Jasper, Gary Wayne Clark and wife Teresa of Loogootee; brothers, Frank Clark of Jasper, Jack Clark of Columbia, SC, Fred Clark of Jasper, Tom Clark of Columbia, SC; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Janet Kay Clark; three sisters, Betty Sutton, Mary Walton, Margie Clark; brothers Bill Clark, Robert Clark and Jim Clark; and grandson Christopher Scott Wiscaver.
No services are planned at this time. Burial will be held at a later date in the Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Shoals is in charge of the arrangements.
