James A Smith

James A. “Andy” Smith age 67, of Shoals, passed away at 1:25 PM on June 5, 2018, at the Loogootee Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 6, 1950 in Vincennes to William Elmer and Maggie Laverne (Blake) Smith. He graduated Shoals High School, was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Shoals and held odd jobs in the community. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Paramedic during the Vietnam War. Surviving are; two sisters, Carolyn Kay Tello of Leslie, Michigan, Martha Jane Fisher of Charlotte, Michigan; four brothers, Cassius Lee Smith of Odon, Paul R. Smith of Loogootee, Mark R. Smith of Shoals and John H. Smith of Shoals. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Anna Faye Smith and Hattie Lou Smith; three brothers, George Ronald Smith, Richard Stanley Smith and Amos Joseph Smith. A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial in the Trinity Springs Cemetery. The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
