Hazel Gaddis Davis age 91, of Shoals, passed away at her residence on March 22, 2019. She was born May 16, 1927 in Shoals to James B. and Ruby (Zollars) Gaddis. She married Franklin (Frank) Davis on August 27, 1950 at the Shoals Christian Church and he survives.
Hazel graduated Shoals High School Class of 1945, was formally employed by RCA Bloomington, The Loogootee Textile and was a QMA at the Loogootee Nursing Center prior to retiring. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over fifty years, a charter member of the Hindostan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a fifty-year member of the Martin County Home Economic Town and Country Homemakers, a member of the Shoals Christian Church where she worked closely with the youth groups and sang in the choir, was Past President of the Shoals Community Schools PTA and a Girl Scout Leader. She loved flowers, music and gathering with friends and family.
Survivors include her husband, one son, Spencer Davis of Shoals; one daughter, Marsha Lynn Davis Rothrock of Bloomington; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Dorothy Gaddis, Beula Gaddis, Nina Gaddis Figg, Dola Gaddis Edington, Deloris Gaddis Fettic and two brothers, Roy and Floyd Gaddis.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM Friday at the Shoals Christian Church with Pastor Matthew Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Thursday at the Shoals Christian Church and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shoals Christian Church.
