Everett Dale Belcher Jr.

May 23, 1934 - November 12, 2023

Everett D. “Dale” Belcher, Jr., 89, of Trinity Springs, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 12:21 A.M. at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on May 23, 1934, in French Lick, Indiana to the late Everett D. Belcher, Sr. And Evelyn (Crowder) Traylor.

Dale attended Shoals High School and was known for his running abilities. He spent much time working on the family farm. Being gifted with a mechanical mind, he was able to diagnose a problem just by hearing the description of the symptoms. He had a special knack for transmissions and electronics.

He was an enthusiast of ham radios, model airplanes, and NASCAR. His favorite pastimes were electronics and gadgets, traveling, playing euchre, and working with his hands. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and little dog, Sally.

For nearly 50 years, he was a long-time resident of Yuma, Arizona, where he attended Arizona Western College. He was employed by Arizona Public Service as a maintenance supervisor. Upon retirement, he spent his time in Arizona, Washington, and Indiana, but his heart was always in Arizona.

Dale is survived by his sons, Everett “Buster” (Kay) Belcher, of Trinity Springs, Indiana, and Larry Belcher, of Shoals, Indiana; grandchildren, Christina Belcher, of Yuma, Arizona, Christopher Shawn (Rose) Belcher, of Austin, Texas, Joel (Melissa) Belcher, Charity (Wayne) Tolbert, Crystal (Aaron) Tarr, all of Trinity Springs, Indiana, and Stephen (Amanda) Belcher, of Salinas, California; great-grandchildren, Brenden Piburn, of Yuma, Arizona, Christian Belcher, of Jasper, Indiana, Shawn Christopher Belcher, of Austin, Texas, and Caleb Belcher, Samuel Tolbert, Olivia Tarr, Peyton Tarr, and Zoe Tolbert, all of Trinity Springs, Indiana; brother, Coy Belcher, of Loogootee, Indiana; sisters, Mary Pierson, of Jasper, Indiana, and Alice Tedrow, of French Lick, Indiana; sister-in-law, Shirley (Ray) Belcher, of French Lick, Indiana; many nieces and nephews; and companion, Beverly Robinson, of Ridgefield, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Anis Arlouine; brother, Ray Belcher; sister-in-law, Shirley (Grafton) Belcher; brothers-in-law, Dale Tedrow and Bill Pierson; and spouses, Delores (Doane-Belcher) Sherfick and Beverly (Fox) Belcher.

A man of integrity and Christian faith, his life was a life well lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
