Doris L. Winkle

Doris L. Winkle age 91, of Shoals, passed July 13, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. She was born March 3, 1930 in Smithville, Indiana to Rex and Effie (Bledsoe) Hayes. She married Tommy Winkle and he preceded her in death in April of 1987. Doris graduated Shoals High School Class of 1948, was a dental assistant for Dr. Cropp for over thirty years and retired from German American Bank in Loogootee. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and all her wonderful friends. Preceding her in death are her parents; late husband, Tommy; one sister, Barbara (Dewey) Harker; one brother, Donnie Hayes; and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Shoals Christian Church with Pastor Matt Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals. The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
