Dora Rosalie (Pennington) Qualkenbush, 80, of Shoals, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2023 in Shoals, surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 24, 1943, in Martin County, she was the daughter Claude Payne and Ruby (Wagoner) Payne.
She married Fred Qualkenbush and he survives.
Dora was a homemaker and worked at several restaurants in Martin County. She enjoyed attending church, car shows, and parades, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of over 43 years, Fred Qualkenbush; children, Tracie (Pennington) Stuckey, Scott (Amanda) Pennington, Nina (Millard) Anderson, Tammy Crowe, John Crowe, and James “Jimmy” Qualkenbush; one brother, Leonard Payne; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary Rose (Pennington) Kidwell; brothers, Carl Payne, Henry Payne, Charlie Payne, George William Payne, Pat Payne, and William George Payne; sisters, Caroline Sue Payne, Helen Hart, May Payne, and Deloris Payne.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Randy Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour on Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
