Charles Wallace Peoples Jr., 87, of Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Loogootee Nursing Center.
Born June 27, 1934, in Shoals, he was the son of Charles W. and Gethel (Tow) Peoples.
He married Naomi Jackson Honeycutt on August 14, 1971, and she survives.
Charles attended Shoals High School. He was a retired truck driver; attended Fairview Baptist Church; member of the Kentucky Colonels, Mitchell American Legion, Shoals VFW, and the Bedford Boat and Sportsman’s Club.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi, of Shoals; children, Susan Peoples, of Stockton, CA, Arlene (Jeff) Cundiff, of Shoals, Marnita (Mike) Arvin, of Loogootee, Colleen Stout, of Shoals, Charles R. Peoples and Rick Tishner, of Shoals, Pearl (Scott) Quinn, of Shoals, and Jackie (Eric) Harper, of Springville; step-daughter, DeeDee (Paul) Sanders, of Shoals; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Tima (Gary) Hickman; sisters-in-law, Sharon Peoples and Carolyn Brett; brothers-in-law, Rick Jackson and Roger (Faye) Jackson, all of Shoals; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Peoples; half-brothers, Nathan Peoples and Earl Peoples; half-sisters, Aileen (Peoples) Nichols, Mary (Peoples) Clift, Charlotte (Peoples) Harbin, Stella (Peoples) Holt, Elizabeth (Peoples) Hicks, and Pearl (Ross) Haynes.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Dustin Staggs and Matt Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral chapel.
