Carl Dale Tinkle

Carl Dale Tinkle, age 68 of Shoals, passed away at the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper on Tuesday December 27, 2016. Carl was residing at the Springs Valley Meadows in French Lick. He was born January 3rd, 1948 in Shoals to David and Ruth (Lindley) Tinkle. He married Edith Marlene Taylor and she preceded him in death on June 5th, 2013. Carl was a former Town Marshal for Shoals and worked for the ambulance service several years. He attended Shoals High School and also attended Powell Valley Church. He is survived by a step-son, Chris Taylor of Bloomington, brothers, Harold and Loretta Tinkle of Dubois, William “Bill” Tinkle of Jasper and Tennis Tinkle of Loogootee, sisters Brenda Tedrow of Loogootee, Linda Courtright of Washington, Pamela Blair of Washington, Yevonne Stone of Shoals and Lana and Gene Bush of Linton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents and brothers Jack and Danny Tinkle and sisters Clarabelle Wininger, Carolyn Tinkle and Janet Ragens. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday December 30th, at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with Rev. Marvin Lagle officiating. Burial in the Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 at the funeral home.
