Brenda J. Cooper

Brenda J. Cooper, age 77 of Shoals, Indiana passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehab. She was born August 11, 1942 in Daviess County Indiana, the daughter of Thelma R. (Ham) Roth and Edwin C. Wagoner. Brenda was a graduate of Shoals High School with the Class of 1960. On July 21, 1962 she married Harold L. Cooper and he survives. Brenda was employed at NWSC Crane from March 1963 until September 1977. She was also employed by the State of Indiana, at the Martin County Office of Family and Children, until her retirement in April 2007. She was a member of the Dover Hill Christian Union Church. Survivors include her husband, Harold L. Cooper of Shoals; one son, Brian L. Cooper of Corydon, Indiana; three grandchildren, Sydney Cooper and Justin Million of Corydon, Indiana, and Kyle Million of Chandler, Arizona; two great-grandchildren, Brylee and Caden Million of Tell City, Indiana. Also surviving is a brother, Walter A. Roth and Jan, of Beach Grove, Indiana; a sister, Nancy E Laymon and husband Steve of Indianapolis, Indiana; one niece, Ashley Laymon of Baltimore, Maryland, and one aunt Delores Ham of Shoals. Preceding her in death were her parents, Thelma R. Roth, Edwin C. Wagoner and her step-father, John W. Roth; grandparents, Phillip and Clonia Ham; uncle, Orlando Ham; and an aunt, Laverne Faion. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM at The Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the hour of service. Pastor Mike Schlaegel and Pastor Mike Newland will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is entrusted with the arrangements.
