Amanda Elizabeth Grafton

Amanda Elizabeth Grafton, age 21, is resting in the arms of Jesus. She left this world peacefully at home on the morning of October 2, 2018 snuggling with her mommy, daddy, and puppy Sophie. Amanda was born March 12, 1997 in Bloomington, Indiana and was a resident of Loogootee. Amanda fought a courageous battle with Mitochondrial Disease and Chiari Malformation. She attended the Church of the Cross in Shoals. She was a 2016 graduate of Indiana Connections Academy and attended Shoals Community Schools, where she participated in cheerleading. She enjoyed pageants and singing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Amanda was a mentor to other children who faced similar circumstances. She touched the lives of many throughout her journey. Amanda is survived by her parents, Andrew and Amy Grafton, sister Abigail Moody, and faithful puppers, Princess Sophia Adora-Bella, all of Loogootee; Granny and Gramps, Roy Dale and Beth Ann Grafton of Loogootee; Great-Grandma Clara Grafton of Loogootee; Papaw and Mamaw Danny and Wanda Moody of Loogootee; Uncle Adam and Aunt Stephanie Grafton of Deer Creek, IL; Uncle Danny and Aunt Pam Moody of Bedford; Aunt Susan Moody of Greeneville, TN; Aunt Pamela Moody of TN; Uncle Tim Jones of Loogootee; and cousins Eli, Allie, and Annabelle Grafton, David Burton, Timothy, Kyle, and Kody Moody, Micah Murphy, Alyssa Martin, Brittany Barnard, and Jean Claude Kast. She was preceded in death by her Great-grandparents Dale Grafton, and Garnet and Elva Moody, Aunt Kimberly Gearlds, cousin Sheldon Gearlds, and special beagle Shiloh. The family will receive guests at the farm on Friday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. Arrangements will be held on Saturday at the Church of the Cross, with visitation from 11-2, and service at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Amanda’s honor to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, American Syringomyelia & Chiari Alliance Project, Ronald McDonald House of Indiana, or the Sunshine Foundation. The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
