Alice Alene Robbins

Alice A. Robbins, 76, of Shoals, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Northwood Good Samaritan in Jasper.

Born February 14, 1947, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Willis E. And Mary M. (Hembree) Hembree.

Alice graduated from Alfordsville High School and was a member of the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, Loogootee.

She married Gene Robbins, and he preceded her in death in 2010.

She was a babysitter for many years, worked the election polls in Martin County, the Office at the Daviess County Turkey Trot for 16 years, and delivered flowers at Chastain’s Flowers for several years.

Alice enjoyed growing flowers, playing bingo, sitting on her front porch, and country music.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Chad (Jennifer) Phillips, of Shoals; sisters, Norma Kay (Paul James) Breeding, of Jasper, Mildred hill, of Jasper, and Mary (Terry) Walton, of Loogootee; brothers, Charles (Marie) Hembree, of Texas, and Donnie Hembree, of Loogootee; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Robbins; sisters, Shirley Lineback, Sharon Farese, Diane Mathies; and brother Bill Hembree.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care, with Pastor Caleb Moffatt officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel.
